Brief CV: Ângela Saldanha has a PhD in Arts Education from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Porto, a Master’s in Visual Arts and a Degree in Design, from University of Aveiro. Ângela Saldanha has completed a Postdoctoral Degree in Digital Media Arts as a researcher at the Center for Research in Arts and Communication, at Universidade Aberta, where she also teaches. She has several academic backgrounds in the fields of multimedia, ceramics and contemporary artistic production. As an artist, she exhibits her work constantly, both nationally and internationally. She usually engages in works of activist content, of community involvement and critical thinking on society. She is part of the collectives: “C3” (group of action and research in interdisciplinary artistic practices in Arts Education), “1686” and “Ai ia” (artistic thoughts and actions). She is the vice-president of the Portuguese Visual Art Teachers Association (APECV) and a member of the European Council of the International Society for Education Through Art (InSEA). She is the author of several publications in renowned publications and a member of the editorial team and Scientific Committee in journals and at national and international events.
Research Interests: Her main interests are in contemporary artistic activist practices and arts education.
