Brief CV: Sandra Boto has been an Assistant Researcher at the CIAC/University of Algarve since 2019. She has a degree in Modern Languages and Literature (Portuguese Studies) – from the University of Algarve. In 2012 she earned her PhD in Languages, Literature and Cultures – Literary Studies from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, with the thesis “As Fontes do Romanceiro de Almeida Garrett. Uma Proposta de Edição Crítica” [The sources for Almeida Garrett’s Romanceiro. A Proposal for Critical Edition]. Her PhD research was developed with a research scholarship awarded by the Foundation for Science and Technology. She is currently developing the post-doctoral project “O Romanceiro de Almeida Garrett” [Almeida Garrett’s Romanceiro], a complete critical edition in digital format, endorsed by the Center for Portuguese Literature of the University of Coimbra and CIAC – Centre for Research in Arts and Communication of the University of Algarve, also with a scholarship awarded by the Foundation for Science and Technology. She is a member of CIAC (University of Algarve) and CLP (University of Coimbra). She is the scientific coordinator for the project Romanceiro.pt, endorsed by CIAC. She has lectured at the University of Huelva, at the University of Algarve and at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, where she directed the Portuguese Language Center of Camões Institute. From her experience as a lecturer, we highlight teaching Portuguese for Foreigners and Spanish Literature.
Research Interests: She presents the product of her research at national and international scientific meetings regularly. She was a guest participant with an awarded scholarship at the workshop “Code and Collation” organized by the “DIXIT – Digital Scholarly Editions Initial Training Network”, a project funded by the Marie Curie Programme (Amsterdam, November 2016). She is a member of CIAC (Centre for Research in Arts and Communication) Executive Council. She was the head coordinator of the 5th International Romanceiro Congress, held at the University of Coimbra, on June 22nd, 23rd and 24th, 2017 (organized by the Center for Portuguese Literature and the General Library of the University of Coimbra in joint partnership with the Ramón Foundation Menéndez Pidal).
