His work analyzes the relationships between image, heritage, landscape, and cultural tourism, exploring how visual and audiovisual media contribute to the interpretation, representation, and communication of cultural and territorial identities.
Through an interdisciplinary approach that combines anthropology, visual studies, and media technologies, his research explores visual methodologies and multimedia practices as tools for research, knowledge production, and cultural mediation. A significant part of his work focuses on heritage processes, collective memory, and visual representations of territories, with particular attention to the role of digital media and audiovisual narratives in the communication and interpretation of cultural heritage.
His research frequently articulates theoretical reflection with applied and practice-based approaches, exploring innovative ways of producing visual knowledge and public engagement with cultural and territorial heritage. Throughout his academic career, he has participated in several national and international research projects related to cultural heritage, digital media, tourism, and visual communication, collaborating with academic institutions and research networks in Europe, Africa, and Brazil.
Alongside his academic research, he also works as a documentary filmmaker and audiovisual producer, having directed several documentary films and multimedia projects on themes such as cultural memory, traditional practices, landscape representation, and socio-territorial transformations. These works are often based on ethnographic research and explore the potential of audiovisual media as research instruments and forms of cultural expression.
