Pedro Quintino de Sousa
Pedro Quintino de Sousa (PhD 2016). Visiting Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Algarve, where he teaches English Language and Culture and written and oral production in English (academic and non-academic), Science Communication in English and Portuguese as a Foreign Language. He is deputy head of the Languages and Intercultural Communication degree and deputy head of the Arts and Humanities Department. He has also taught Fundamentals of Criticism, Portuguese Literature V and Foreign Literatures in Portuguese. He is a scientific reviewer for Rotura – Revista de Comunicação, Cultura e Artes, UAlg Editora, LIT&TOUR: International Journal of Literature and Tourism Research, Journal of Narrative and Language Studies and Documentación de las Ciencias de la Información.
Research Interests
Relations between Literature and Philosophy and English Language Culture and Writing and Science Communication. Collaborator with the Academy of Ideas (formerly the Institute of Ideas, London) and the British Council. Member of the projects TE-CON3 – Strategic Partnerships for Higher Education – Teaching English as a Content Subject at the Tertiary Level – A Modular Approach (Number 2020-PL01-KA203-081894), APATCHE – Awareness of Plurilingual Approaches in the language Teacher Classroom in Higher Education (Number KA203-A5AF31-D0-EN), SEA-EU 2. 0 Alliance (European Universities of the Seas) (ERASMUS-EDU-2022-EUR-UNIV) – member of task 4.6 and BLUE ROUTE – researcher.
