5th Creative Process Encounter dedicated to April 25th

The 5th Creative Process Encounter will take place on April 25th at the Fuenlabrada campus of Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid. The theme of the event is “Filmmakers and Other Artists.”

This year’s meeting coincides with a historic date, April 25th, marking the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution. As such, a significant part of the discussions will be dedicated to reflecting on the creative processes surrounding revolutions and social changes, paying tribute to this pivotal moment in Portugal’s history.

The aim of this event is to understand the craft of the filmmaker and the various creative processes involved in filmmaking, exploring the diversity of methods used in artistic creation, from traditional to innovative techniques, and understanding the aesthetic decisions that shape each work.

This gathering promises to bring together internationally renowned filmmakers, artists, and researchers, providing a privileged space for sharing knowledge and experiences, as well as for establishing new collaborations and projects.

Two researchers from CIAC will travel to Madrid to participate in this event, namely Mirian Tavares and Ana Soares, who will present the papers “The Collection of Creative Processes and the Role of Creative Processes at the University of Algarve” and “The Creative Process in Documentary” respectively.

This event is a joint initiative between Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, LabCom-Communication and Arts, in collaboration with CIAC – Research Center for Arts and Communication, iA*, and the Department of Audiovisual Communication and Advertising.
