Ana Isabel Soares is the new Editorial Coordinator of Aniki: Portuguese Journal of the Moving Image
Ana Isabel Soares, a researcher and professor at the University of the Algarve (UAlg) and CIAC, has served as Editorial Coordinator of Aniki: Portuguese Journal of the Moving Image since last July, succeeding Tiago Fernandes as head of the journal
Founded in May 2013 by AIM – the Association of Researchers in the Moving Image – Aniki is an international, interdisciplinary, open-access academic journal published twice a year (in January and July). The journal serves as a leading specialized forum for debate on cinema, television, digital cultures, video games, and audiovisual narratives from a wide range of historical and theoretical perspectives.
CIAC Representation on the Editorial Team
The appointment of Ana Isabel Soares reinforces the strong connection between CIAC and scientific publishing in the fields of audiovisual studies and the arts. The new editorial team also includes researcher Mirian Nogueira Tavares (UAlg/CIAC), who is in charge of the Essays section, as part of a transdisciplinary group that brings together researchers from various national and international institutions (such as the IHC, Rey Juan Carlos University, Sorbonne Nouvelle, and the University of Santiago de Compostela).
Through the publication of double-blind peer-reviewed essays, interviews, reviews, and thematic dossiers in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, Aniki continues to foster closer ties between Portuguese-speaking and international scientific communities.
CIAC congratulates Professor Ana Isabel Soares, Ph.D., and wishes her every success in her new editorial role.
