Ana Isabel Soares takes part in event dedicated to Portuguese film director Monique Rutler
This Friday, September 20, 2024, Ana Isabel Soares, a researcher at CIAC, will take part in a presentation of a catalogue from the Cinemateca Portuguesa, dedicated to the Portuguese director Monique Rutler, in which she participates with the essay ‘Registering History, Commenting on the Days’.
As part of the cycle dedicated to the work of Monique Rutler and taking advantage of the launch of the author’s catalogue Monique Rutler — ‘This Will Change!’, the Cinemateca is organising a conversation around the work and figure of the director. Cinemateca programmer Ricardo Vieira Lisboa will be in conversation with professors and researchers Ana Isabel Soares (author of the original essay ‘Registering History, Commenting on the Days’ published in the aforementioned catalogue) and Mariana Liz (co-organiser of the book Portuguese Women Filmmakers: Feminine Cinema in the Contemporary Era and current Vice-President of the association MUTIM — Women Workers of Moving Images).
The event will take place in the Luís de Pina Room at the Museu do Cinema — Cinemateca Portuguesa, in Rua Barata Salgueiro, 39, next Friday at 18h00. Admission is free and tickets must be collected from the box office thirty minutes before the start of the session.
