Artist and researcher Inês Coelho da Silva presents work at the Gambelas Campus
The Portuguese artist and researcher Inês Coelho da Silva (b. 1996), based between Santa Maria da Feira and Milan, will be present on 24 March at 3:00 p.m. in room 2.37 at the Gambelas campus, FCHS, as part of the Visual Arts Cycle.
Trained in Sculpture at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto and holding a master’s degree from the Royal College of Art in the United Kingdom, Inês Coelho da Silva’s work explores the intersection of ecology, food politics, and tacit knowledge through edible installations, collective practices, and gestures of care.
Among her most recent exhibitions are “Walk&Talk – Bienal de Artes 2025”, “Boca Aberta” (Paralaxe, Porto), “(Gentler) Futures Festival” (Lisbon), “Hyperthyme” (Madrid), “SEEDS” (Lisbon), “A Salt Anthology” (Lisbon), “Tropeçar não é cair” (Coimbra), and “Together it Seams” (London).
The artist has also participated in residencies at organizations such as Mediamatic (Netherlands), Brave New Alps (Italy), Institute for Postnatural Studies (Spain), and Oficinas do Convento (Portugal). She is a tutor and project director at The Gramounce, where she developed residencies such as Landscape Cooking at Domaine de Boisbuchet (France) and Alchemical Kitchen, in collaboration with Terzo Paesaggio (Italy).
Her work has been published in various magazines and catalogues, including U+ZINE 4 – Food issue, Plurality University Network (France), and Portuguese Emerging Art 2020 Green Edition (Emerge AC, Portugal).
