CIAC hosts researcher from the University of Huelva


Sandra Patricia Bautista, artist, researcher, and assistant professor at the University of Huelva, is conducting research at CIAC from june to september 2026, with the aim of advancing the study of contemporary arts education through research-creation.

Her work connects processes of visual and sound creation with the initial training of teachers. The project includes the analysis of a selection of doctoral theses from the Doctorate in Digital Media Art and projects developed within the Master’s programme in Creative Processes at the University of Algarve, with the aim of developing new methodologies applicable to the Bachelor’s Degrees in Early Childhood and Primary Education at the University of Huelva.

The collaboration between the two institutions aims to foster joint scientific output, including the co-authorship of a scientific article with CIAC researcher and Vice-Coordinator Mirian Tavares, as well as the presentation of research findings at national and international scientific events. The project also contributes to strengthening academic cooperation networks among higher education institutions in Portugal, Spain, and Colombia.

Sandra Patricia Bautista Santos holds a PhD in History and Theory of Art from Pablo de Olavide University (Seville). Her research focuses on arts education, contemporary artistic practices, gender perspectives, and educational innovation. Her research stay at CIAC strengthens the Centre’s international collaboration and promotes the development of joint initiatives in research, artistic creation, and education.
