CIAC’s Digital Literacy and Social Inclusion Hub, based at the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém, recently secured funding for two researchers in the areas of Communication and Media and Computer and Information Sciences to enter scientific careers, as part of the 1st edition of the FCT-Tenure program.
The provisional results of the evaluation of applications were announced on August 14. Prior hearings are open until September 12. The final results will be announced shortly.
FCT-Tenure is a new funding instrument from the Foundation for Science and Technology designed to promote the hiring of PhDs exclusively for permanent positions. In this 1st edition, 1,100 PhD researchers are expected to be hired and, in 2025, an additional 400 positions are expected to be opened.
In the first edition of this competition, 115 institutions from the national scientific and technological system submitted applications, requesting the co-financing of 2,211 positions. The evaluation process involved 208 international evaluators from 25 different nationalities.
