Faro Transforms Into an Artistic Stage for the 6th Edition of Open Studios Faro 2026


From October 8 to 11, 2026, the city of Faro will host the 6th edition of Open Studios Faro (OSF2026), a biennial event that opens the doors of creative studios, homes, cultural associations, and institutions to the public, fostering a dialogue between art, territory, and community.

Under the theme “The Art of Living a City in Transformation”, this year’s edition features over 80 local and international artists whose works and interventions will be spread across 29 locations throughout the city. From historic downtown streets to private ateliers, galleries, churches, and the shores of Ria Formosa, the program includes exhibitions, installations, and various cultural activities over four days.

Program Highlights

The event kicks off with two key inaugural exhibitions in visual arts:

  • October 8 (Thursday) | 5:00 PM: Official opening of OSF2026 with the inauguration of the photography exhibition “Esta Rua, Outra Rua” (“This Street, Another Street”), by Vasco Célio.📍 Location: Rua Ferreira Neto, No. 40
  • October 9 (Friday) | 5:00 PM: Opening of the exhibition “O Jardim que Não Vemos” (“The Garden We Don’t See”), by Annegret Kellner.📍 Location: GAMA RAMA Gallery (Rua do Prior, No. 46)
