José Cirillo to be guest speaker at the CIAC+PUC-SP Creative Processes Cycle session

The second 2026 session of the CIAC+PUC-SP Creative Processes Cycle will welcome curator and visual artist José Cirillo on 3 June. The event will be held online at 7:00 pm (Brazil) and 11:00 pm (Portugal).

In addition to being a curator and artist, José Cirillo is a researcher with a distinguished career in the fields of public art and creative processes. He is a professor at the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES), where he coordinates the Graduate Program in Arts and develops curatorial projects and research focused on the relationships between art, memory, the city, and cultural heritage. He is also the founder and coordinator of LEENA-UFES (Laboratory for Extension and Research in Creative Processes and Artistic Narratives), a research centre dedicated to the study of creative processes in the visual arts. His artistic and curatorial practice brings together exhibitions, seminars, and research projects in Brazil and abroad, with a particular emphasis on urban poetics, archives of creation, and contemporary practices of occupying public space. Throughout his career, José Cirillo has established himself as a leading figure in contemporary public art studies and curatorial practice, fostering dialogue between artistic creation, territory, and collective memory.

The event is organised by the International Conference on Creative Processes of the CIAC, in partnership with the PUC-SP Research Group on Creative Processes. Each edition of the Cycle invites artists and creators from different fields to discuss topics related to contemporary creative processes. The initiative is part of the curriculum of the Lato Sensu Postgraduate Programme in Creative Processes at PUC-SP and is streamed through the YouTube channel of the Graduate Programme in Literature and Literary Criticism at PUC-SP.
