Master’s in Creative Processes at the University of Algarve Hosts Extension of the Accessible Film Festival

The Master’s in Creative Processes at the University of Algarve will host a special accessible cinema session on Friday, 14 November 2025, at 3:30 p.m., as part of the Accessible Film Festival Extension, organised in partnership with the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança.

The event will take place in Room 2.37 of Building 1G, at the Gambelas Campus, and will offer participants the opportunity to watch, analyse, and discuss two Portuguese films adapted for deaf and blind audiences, promoting cultural accessibility and inclusion through cinematic art.

The films to be screened are O Antiquário, a short animated film directed by Manuel Matos Barbosa, and Capa de Honras – La Cuonta de L Garotico I L Bielho, by Rui Falcão, a fiction film distinguished by being shot in Portuguese and Mirandese, thus highlighting the country’s linguistic and cultural diversity.

The Accessible Film Festival aims to promote universal access to film culture and featured António Costa Valente, CIAC researcher, as keynote speaker at this year’s edition, held in May. The extension now hosted by the University of Algarve is part of the curricular unit Poetics of Contemporary Artistic Creation, within the Master’s in Creative Processes, reinforcing the connection between research, artistic creation, and cultural inclusion.

Admission is free, subject only to room capacity.
