Pedro Alves da Veiga prepares the exhibition Ser-Generativo

CIAC researcher Pedro Alves da Veiga is preparing the exhibition Ser-Generativo, which features a selection of his generative art works from the past six years. The exhibition, curated by Hernando Urrutia, will be held at the Tratuário gallery in Funchal, Madeira, from July 25 to September 13.

Pedro Alves da Veiga’s generative artworks—created using code and algorithms that transform through various computational techniques—not only involve artistic coding, but also affect the creative process itself. This process is constantly modified by feedback from experimentation, adjusting systems to produce new versions of each narrative.

The exhibition embodies a rebirth of the SELF, also generated through generative processes. As a creator of the third millennium, Pedro Alves da Veiga embraces the media of his time, using various aspects of his work to expand his legacy. He fosters new artistic narratives through conceptualisation, words, ideas, and the generation of knowledge that contemporary art allows. The exhibition explores the diverse propagation and production of contemporary thought in the free creation of the human mind—since contemporary creation, as an act, is art intertwined with thought.
