Pedro Alves da Veiga will be a guest speaker at the session Lights from the Past, Colors of the Present

On May 15th, researcher Pedro Alves da Veiga will participate as a guest speaker in the session “Lights from the Past, Colors of the Present” where he will discuss “Generative Art – Everything, Everywhere, All at Once?” as part of the Pint of Science Portugal festival in Lisbon.

The term “generative” burst into our lives through Artificial Intelligence in 2023, but its existence in relation to computational art is much older, spanning several decades of development and practice. Therefore, Pedro Alves da Veiga aims to take a historical – and creative – journey, demonstrating the evolution of generative art over the past 60 years.

The session “Lights from the Past, Colors of the Present” is part of the Pint of Science Portugal festival and consists of hour-long presentations dedicated to various scientific areas, delivered in an accessible language and in the relaxed atmosphere of a bar.
