PROPS Project Spotlighted in UALGzine

The “PROPS – Interactive Narratives Propose Pluralistic Discourse“, a flagship project of CIAC that brings together different hubs of the Center and external partners, was featured in the 16th edition of UALGzine by Ana Filipa Martins, the project’s vice-coordinator.

During this moment of sharing some interim results, Ana Filipa Martins emphasized the scientific transversality and intersectionality of this project, which involves a team of 18 researchers and collaborators with extensive experience, along with two international consultants in the fields of arts, technology, and communication.

PROPS aims to converge the study of online hate speech in video games and the creation of interactive narratives and educational itineraries that promote “a gaming and competitive culture that may involve less intricate offense or disregard for others.”

The resources produced by the PROPS team can be utilized in the classroom context with elementary and secondary school students to promote digital citizenship and literacy. This initiative aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, specifically the goal of promoting fairer and more inclusive societies.
