Research Group on Film Studies to participate in the organisation of biblical films seminar
CIAC’s Research Group on Film Studies and the Lyceu Museum of Faro are organising the seminar The Bible: From the Origins of Cinema to 21st Century Television, which will take place on June 16 at 3 PM in the Lyceu Library in Faro. Admission is free.
The seminar features CIAC researchers Jorge Carrega, who will present a communication titled “The Influence of Painting on Biblical Cinema”, and Sara Vitorino Fernandez, who will present “Ben-Hur: From Book to Big Screen”. Fábio Gioppo, researcher from the Universidade Tuiuti do Paraná/IFPR, will also participate with a presentation titled “What’s New in the Audiovisual Creation of Biblical Narratives”.
The session will be moderated by Professor Meira Pinto, Director of the Lyceu Museum of Faro.
Through this extension activity, the Research Group on Film Studies aims to promote film culture and showcase some of the work done at CIAC, initiating a partnership with the Lyceu Museum of Faro to strengthen its connection with the local community.
