“Rhythms of the Subatomic Landscapes”by Hugo Paquete selected for CMMR 2025

The immersive acousmatic work by Hugo Paquete, “Rhythms of the Subatomic Landscapes,” has been officially selected and curated for the Sounding Future 3D AudioSpace platform, an event integrated into the 17th International Symposium on Computer Music Multidisciplinary Research (CMMR 2025).

Organized by University College London under the theme “Sound, Music: Space, Place,” CMMR 2025 will take place from November 3–7, 2025, in London, United Kingdom, providing the ideal academic and artistic context for Paquete’s work. The symposium’s focus on spatial audio and sonic environments aligns closely with the central concepts of the composition.

“Rhythms of the Subatomic Landscapes” immerses the listener in a universe where rhythm does not behave as a regular pulse but rather as a dynamic, unstable, and complex system. Created through advanced algorithmic processes and granular synthesis at Absonus Lab, the piece constructs immersive sonic environments in which percussive traces emerge, multiply, and dissipate in an enveloping sonic dance.

Drawing inspiration from post-techno’s fascination with asymmetry and structural collapse, Paquete co-composes with these unstable systems. The result is a listening experience that is physically intense and intellectually stimulating — a profound exploration of time, perception, and the politics of sound organization.

We invite you to experience this unique exploration of rhythm and space on the official curated platform.
