Short film “4 Estações” receives international awards
The short film “4 Estações“, produced by CIAC researcher Carlos Coelho Costa, has recently garnered several international awards at film festivals.
“4 Estações” received the “Best Producer” and “Best Narrative Short” awards in London at the Next Generation Film Festival (2024); “Best Original Film Project 2024” at the Malibu Academy Film Festival (2024); “Best Independent Filmmaker of the Year” in Paris at the French Critics’ Awards (2024); “International Author Selected” at the Gabriel García Márquez Prize (2024); and “Official Selection” at the San Diego Arthouse Fest (2024).
Additionally, it was awarded “Official Selection” at the Jamaica International Film Fest (2024); “Official Selection” at The New Yorker Indie Critics’ Choice Awards; “Best Indie Short Film” and “Best Arthouse Screenwriter” at the Seattle Global Film Awards (2024); and “Best European Director,” “Best Screenplay Short”, “Best Indie Narrative Short”, and “Best Arthouse Idea” at the Spain International Film Awards (2024).
Carlos Coelho Costa holds a PhD in Art and Design from the University of Porto (2018) and has been a university lecturer at the University of Maia since 2015. He is a collaborating researcher at CIAC, a researcher at Citei (Centre for Research in Technologies and Intermedia Studies), and a collaborator at eHeritageLab, the New Media Lab for Heritage at the University of Porto since 2018. He is the founder of Megalito Media, a film and television production company, and has won over 250 international film awards to date.
