Simone Antoniaci receives international research award


CIAC – UMAIA researcher Simone Antoniaci Tuzzo received the Goiano Prize for Science, Technology, and Innovation in February 2025, awarded by the Goiás State Research Support Foundation (Fapeg).

The award ceremony brought together honorees and authorities on February 6, 2025, at the Mauro Borges Auditorium in the Pedro Ludovico Teixeira Palace in Goiás, Brazil.

Simone Antoniaci Tuzzo won first place in the “Outstanding Researcher Abroad” category, receiving an Honourable Mention described as: “A researcher whose work has greatly contributed to the production and advancement of scientific and technological knowledge and innovation in the state of Goiás.”

The award recognizes researchers, postgraduate students, and journalism professionals for their contributions to the scientific, technological, and innovative development of Goiás and Brazil across all fields of knowledge. Goiás-based companies focused on innovation were also honored.

Winners were selected through an open competition and received a certificate of honorable mention, while first-place recipients were awarded a trophy. The prize was divided into categories such as Outstanding Researcher, Innovative Researcher, Outstanding Graduate Student (Master’s and Doctorate), Outstanding Researcher in Other States and Abroad, Innovative Company, and Communication Professional, with various subcategories recognizing the role of science and innovation in the development of Goiás
