Union of Parishes of Faro’s “Anuário” Coordinated by CIAC Researcher Recognised at Autarquia 2024 Awards

The Union of Parishes of Faro was recognised in two categories at the Autarquia do Ano 2024 Awards. One of the distinctions includes the project “Anuário”, coordinated by Jorge Carrega, a CIAC researcher.

In the “Health and Well-being” category, the local authority received an honourable mention for the Local Civil Protection Unit project on Culatra Island, in the sub-category “Promotion of Public Well-being.” In the “Democracy, Equality, and Civic Participation” category, the “Anuário” project of the Union of Parishes of Faro won the Autarquia do Ano Award in the sub-category “Communication between Elected Officials and Voters.”

This year, the award recognised 48 local authorities across the country, both municipalities and parishes, for their initiatives in a total of 12 categories. The Autarquia do Ano Award celebrates and honours innovative initiatives and practices in municipalities across the country and is a trademark of the Lisbon Awards Group.
