This second volume, written by Professor María Jesús Botana Vilar, is dedicated to the lexical and semic fields of suffering in The Songs of Santa María.
Based on a philological-literary and multidisciplinary approach, and the idea of the existence of a love lexicon in the medieval lyric of Romanesque scope, professor Botana Vilar analyses the affective lexicon in the opera magna The Wise King [o Rei Sabio], in particular its integration and adaptation in the songs of loor, and sheds new light on one of the most relevant works of medieval lyric.
