It aims to promote a taste for Classical Studies by addressing themes from the ancient world and, consequently, how these topics manifest themselves \u2014 or persist \u2014 in contemporary times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The colloquium will be certified as a short-term training course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The theme chosen for this year, \u2018(Re)telling the Greco-Latin classics to the younger generation\u2019, aims to challenge the speakers to present their research and their practices not only to their peers, but to a younger audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; What strategies have been found to bring the ancient world closer to young people?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; What are the most effective forms of communication?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; How can the passion for antiquity be transmitted?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; What can be learnt from Greek-Latin antiquity from an early age?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These and other questions can be addressed here. We welcome proposals for papers (20 minutes) on the theme indicated, which can be related to the various fields of knowledge in the humanities and social sciences (literature, history, philosophy, geography, etc.) and extend to other chronological periods than just Classical Antiquity, as long as this is the starting point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The proposal should include:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Name&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Affiliation&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Brief Curricular Information (up to 100 words)&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Title of the paper &#8211; Abstract (up to 250 words).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any queries should be sent to anogueir@ualg.pt or amariano@ualg.pt, indicating \u2018VII JEC \u2014 Query\u2019 in the subject
