Theatre theory has already classified autos as one-act plays, and this is where my contribution lies. The aim is to show how the autos crossed centuries and went to the former colonies as instruments of conquest, to humanise the people of the new continents. The bibliographical review covers definitions in dictionaries, moving on to authors such as Carolina Michaelis, Pimp\u00e3o, Te\u00f3filo Braga, Augusto Cardoso Bernardes and Jos\u00e9 Cam\u00f5es.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eliz\u00e2ngela Pinheiro has a PhD in Literary, Cultural and Interartistic Studies from the University of Porto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More information (<a
