The guest speaker will be curator Louren\u00e7o Egreja, who will present the <em>PR\u00c9MIO ARTE JOVEM 2026<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Louren\u00e7o Egreja holds a degree in History from Lus\u00edada University of Lisbon and was an Erasmus scholarship holder, through which he studied for one year in the History programme at the University of Barcelona. After returning from the United States in 2003, where he studied under a Fulbright grant, he began working on various contemporary art curatorial projects. In the U.S., after completing a Master\u2019s degree in Art History and Museum Studies at CUNY, he worked as a curatorial assistant at Wave Hill Public Gardens (New York).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His first project in Portugal was <em>Anteciparte<\/em> (2005\u20132008), an annual competition aimed at final-year Fine Arts students, designed to showcase the most promising emerging artistic proposals in Portugal. During this period, he was also invited to curate three artists for the <em>Small Box<\/em> project, a \u201cblack box\u201d installed at the Lisbon Psychiatric Hospital, as well as <em>EDP Sete Maravilhas<\/em>, in which seven artists created ephemeral installations for specific Portuguese monuments, among many other projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From 2009 onwards, he has been dedicated to the project <em>Carpe Diem \u2013 Arte e Pesquisa<\/em>, based at Pal\u00e1cio Pombal in Lisbon, where he serves as lead curator. Since 2016, he has developed <em>Arte Jovem<\/em>, a national competition for final-year Arts students in Portugal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Louren\u00e7o Egreja has developed and participated in major curatorial projects at both national and international levels. More recently, he was invited to direct the JUSTLX 2018 Art Fair at the Museu da Carris, the Portuguese Section at JUSTMADX in 2019, and the second edition of JUSTLX in
