Dedicated to reflecting on creative processes in cinema, the event aims to foster dialogue between artistic creation and academic research. It will take place in a hybrid format, with in-person sessions in Room 2.37 of the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences building at the University of Algarve, in Faro, as well as online participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Organised in partnership by the University of Algarve, the University of Beira Interior, and Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, the meeting brings together researchers, academics, students, and filmmakers around a central question: what is a creative process, and how does it manifest itself in cinematic practice? Since its first edition in 2020, this initiative has promoted closer ties between academic inquiry and artistic creation, establishing itself as an important forum for discussion and exchange on cinema and its creative methodologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The programme begins at 10:00 a.m. with a screening of the film <em>Poetic Invisibilities<\/em> (2023), followed by a conversation with its director, C\u00e9lia Palma. In the afternoon, at 2:30 p.m., a roundtable discussion will address the theme \u201cInvestigating the Creative Process in Experimental Cinema,\u201d featuring Alfonso Palaz\u00f3n, Ana Isabel Soares, Manuela Penafria, and Patricia Dourado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s guest speaker, C\u00e9lia Palma, is a PhD candidate in Digital Media-Art at the University of Algarve and Universidade Aberta. She holds a degree in Communication Design, a master\u2019s degree in Communication, Culture and Arts, and postgraduate qualifications in Design &amp; Rapid Prototyping and in Marketing &amp; Commercial Communication. A native of the Algarve, she has been working in the region since 2001, developing a professional career in communication design and cultural promotion. Her work spans a wide range of projects and communication strategies in the cultural sector, while also exploring various forms of artistic expression, including photography, travel, and other creative practices, with a particular focus on local traditions and cultural heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event is organised by the CIAC researchers Ana Isabel Soares and Mirian Tavares (University of Algarve), Manuela Penafria (University of Beira Interior), and Alfonso Palaz\u00f3n (Universidad Rey Juan Carlos). It will also feature the participation of master\u2019s and doctoral students, as well as faculty members and researchers from the three partner institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those wishing to attend
