This conference aims to bring together contributions that examine landscape not merely as a setting or narrative backdrop, but as a visual and symbolic construct, an expression of identity and presence, and a mediating device between the visible, the represented, and the imagined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This call for papers invites researchers, artists, curators, and students to submit proposals for presentations that critically explore landscape as an aesthetic, cultural, and political category in cinema.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The deadline for abstract submissions has been extended until <strong>May 15, 2026<\/strong>. Proposals addressing, among others, the following topics will be particularly welcomed:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Landscape as an artistic genre and its influence on cinema and the arts;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cinematic modernity and the historical configuration of the gaze;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Urban and rural landscapes: transformations of territory and new ways of inhabiting space;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Audiovisual media, landscape, memory, and cultural identity;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Landscape as a language and mechanism of artistic communication;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Processes of perception, representation, and construction of landscape in cinema and other arts;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ecocritical approaches: landscape, ecology, and environmental issues in cinema and other arts;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Relationships between landscape and architecture in cinema;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Audiovisual media, landscape, and tourism: the circulation of images, territories, and imaginaries;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The relationship between landscape, sound, and music in audiovisual media.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Proposals may be submitted in Portuguese, Galician, English, French, and Spanish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important dates:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Abstract submission deadline: February 16 \u2013 May 15, 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Notification of acceptance: by June 15, 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Colloquium dates: September 10\u201311, 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Full paper submission deadline: October 10, 2026<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Publication: December 2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Interested participants should submit an abstract (200\u2013300 words) along with a brief biographical note (up to 150 words).
