The issue brings together articles from some of the most active historians in the Algarve today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jorge Carrega, the publication\u2019s director, revisited the other volumes that the Union of Parishes of Faro has been publishing since 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Union of Parishes of Faro highlights the participation of Fernando Pessanha in this new volume, presenting \u201cRui Valente: a pirate from Faro in the Manor House of Infante D. Henrique.\u201d Also contributing were Marco Sousa Santos, with \u201cFaro: two eighteenth-century tile panels from the former mansion of the Pantoja family,\u201d Daniel Santana, through \u201cIsolino Vaz, a painter who is reborn,\u201d and Fernando Nuno Vieira, with his contribution titled \u201cThe genesis of football in Faro.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The launch of this new issue was marked by speeches from Marco Lopes, director of the Municipal Museum of Faro, Bruno Lage, president of the Union of Parishes of Faro, and archaeologist Ana Martins, winner of the second edition of
