She is also the Director of the Ph.D. program in Digital Media Art, taught in a partnership between the University of the Algarve and the Open University of Lisbon.<br><br>At an international level, she is the vice-president of the International Association for Computational Art &#8211; ARTECH-Int, which she coordinates with other important roles at a national level.<br><br>Mirian is a member of the curatorial team of the Portuguese Contemporary Art Network and Director of Rotura \u2013 Journal of Communication, Culture, and Arts.<br><br>She has been involved in more than 25 scientific projects, many of which she has played a general coordinating and\/or institutional coordinating role. Mirian has participated, by invitation, in more than 100 national and international conferences, and has published more than 60 articles in nationally and internationally recognized reference journals.<br><br>As a result of her intensive scientific activity, Mirian has published 17 books and 56 chapters in highly recognized publications in her field of study.<br><br>In total, more than 50 masters, doctorate, and post-doc students have defended their theses under her guidance.<br><br>Mirian Tavares participates regularly&nbsp;in the production of&nbsp;various cultural magazines, as well as&nbsp;texts and artistic catalogues. She has coordinated and conceptually developed an original web series designed to disseminate science (CIAC Talks and CIAC Talks Iniciative).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Research Interests<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Her most recent fields of research are: Communication, Digital Media-Art, Cinema, Visual Arts, and Culture and the Arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Latest Publications<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-8b2003bc-6db3-48f3-a5e0-a193506dffd5\">As suas \u00e1reas mais recorrentes de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o hoje s\u00e3o a Est\u00e9tica, a Media-Arte Digital, o Cinema, as Artes Visuais, os Processos de Cria\u00e7\u00e3o e a Literacia dos Media.
