Armando Nascimento Rosa is the coordinating professor of the Theories and Aesthetics area in the Theater Department of the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema of the Instituto Polit\u00e9cnico de Lisboa, where he has been teaching since 1998. He holds a doctorate in Portuguese Studies – 20th Century Dramatic Literature (2001), a master’s degree in Comparative Literary Studies (1994) and a degree in Philosophy (1988) from the FCSH of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, and was awarded the title of specialist in Theatre\/Dramaturgy by the IPL (2023). He has taught on undergraduate and\/or master’s courses in Theatre at the University of \u00c9vora, ESAD Caldas da Rainha (Polytechnic Institute of Leiria) and the University of the Algarve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A playwright, essayist and musical creator, he is the author of more than thirty original dramatic works (including two opera librettos), some of which have won awards and\/or been translated into seven languages, and which have been performed in various cities in Europe, the Americas and Asia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Research Interests<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The fields of his research and applied artistic creation intersect theater, philosophy, literature and music, translating into the following specific areas of activity: stage writing and dramaturgical creation; theories of theater and hermeneutics of drama; poetic word and musical composition. He has published around 26 books of original dramaturgy and essays, including critical bibliographies on Samuel Beckett, Ant\u00f3nio Patr\u00edcio, Fernando Pessoa, and Nat\u00e1lia Correia, whose complete dramatic work he published in a single volume in 2023, at the Imprensa Nacional – Casa da Moeda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
