M\u00aa Jes\u00fas Botana Vilar has a degree in Galician-Portuguese Philology and Romance Philology from the Faculty of Philology at the University of Santiago de Compostela. At the same university, she took doctoral courses in Classical and Medieval Studies and holds a PhD in Literature from the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences at the University of the Algarve (2016). She has been teaching at the University of the Algarve since 2002 and is a reader at the Center for Galician Studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She has a research grant from the Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n para Artes e Humanidades ‘Ram\u00f3n Pi\u00f1eiro’ (CRPIH), for the Cantigas de Loor edition project (2000 – 2002); a Xunta de Galicia scholarship holder (2002-2008) at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (University of the Algarve); an AECI scholarship holder from the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2003 – 2006).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Research Interests<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Her scientific activity began as a research fellow at the Ram\u00f3n Pi\u00f1eiro Center for Humanities Research (CIRP), in the project “Galicia Medieval”, editing the Cantigas de Loor by Alfonso X (coordinated by Elvira Fidalgo and published in 2003). She has also collaborated in the production of literary voices for the Ir Indo publishing house and has been a member of the Obradoiro da Historia Association, publishing several issues of its poetic bulletin Segrel. He is currently a member of the Arts and Communication Research Center (University of Algarve).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
