The new issue of ROTURA journal is now available<\/h1>\n\n

In the article “Educaci\u00f3n Medi\u00e1tica en Primaria: Intervenci\u00f3n contra el odio en redes”<\/a>, Laura Picazo S\u00e1nchez and Eva Tom\u00e1s Fern\u00e1ndez aim to design a media education program for primary education that fosters students’ critical attitudes towards screens, promoting healthy and positive use of ICT, the Internet, and social networks, specifically targeting the identification of online hate speech. In “Addressing Online Hate Speech: Nigeria\u2019s National Framework and Regulations”<\/a>, Tsokwa Maggai discusses Nigeria’s lack of a national communication policy framework, despite 63 years of independence. The article examines all four drafts of Nigeria\u2019s national communication policy framework to contextualize online hate speech within these documents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In “Strategies to protect children from violence in artificial intelligence”<\/a>, Rosal\u00eda Urbano presents a study identifying strategies to mitigate violence in AI-generated content targeting minors. Eric Msughter Aondover’s “Media Outlook of Hate Speech in the 2015 and 2019 General Elections in Nigeria”<\/a> studies the phenomenon of hate speech in Nigeria’s general elections, focusing on the Daily Trust, The Nation, and The Guardian newspapers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ana Helena Barbosa da Silva and \u00c1ngel Hernando G\u00f3mez published “O que est\u00e1 por tr\u00e1s dos \u201clikes\u201d? \u2013 Desenvolvimento da autoimagem em jovens youtubers”<\/a>, analyzing the impacts of fame, audience, and the role of being a YouTuber on identity formation, self-esteem, and psychological well-being. Valdemir Soares dos Santos Neto’s “Content Creators and The Rise of Hate Speech between Brazilians and Portuguese on Digital Platforms: Analysis of an Experiment on a Social Network”<\/a> examines the interaction between content creation on digital platforms concerning Brazilian immigration to Portugal and the proliferation of hate speech.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The case of House and The Good Doctor: a comparative study”<\/a> by Beatriz Guerrero Garc\u00eda; “University Teachers\u2019 Vantage Points on ChatGPT Integration in Education: Upsides and Downsides”<\/a> by Hawkar Omar Ali; “MY MONO NO AWARE \u2013 Um passeio sonoro interativo para a promo\u00e7\u00e3o de autorreconhecimento”<\/a> by Ricardo Mestre, Rui d’Orey, and Pedro Alves da Veiga; “MAD Clarinet 3.0: Dialogues with my computer”<\/a> by Rui Travasso and Lu\u00eds Marques; “Sopralluoghi in Palestina per Il Vangelo secondo Matteo: el ensayo f\u00edlmico de confesi\u00f3n en Pasolini”<\/a> by Jes\u00fas Ram\u00e9 L\u00f3pez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, two essays and one interview\/review were published: “O contracampo como movimento infinito: o legado f\u00edlmico e acad\u00e9mico de Raquel Scheffer”<\/a> by Caterina Cucinotta; “A presen\u00e7a (ou aus\u00eancia) das mulheres artistas nos livros de Hist\u00f3ria da Arte e seu impacto na abertura de espa\u00e7os e oportunidades para mulheres hoje”<\/a> by D\u00e9bora Teixeira Falc\u00e3o de Oliveira; and “O novo brinquedo de Edgar P\u00eara ou sobre a inquietude do cinema de ideias”<\/a> by Teresa Lima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the direction of CIAC coordinators Mirian Tavares and Bruno Mendes da Silva, this issue of Rotura<\/strong> was edited by researchers Anthony Brooks (Aalborg University), Ana Filipa Martins (CIAC, University of Algarve), Janice Richardson (Digital Citizenship Expert, Council of Europe), and Susana Costa (CIAC, University of Algarve, Open University).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next issue, scheduled for release in September 2024, will have the theme of \u2018Living Fiction\u2019. The call for papers<\/a> for the issue dedicated to the theme \u2018Artistic Chronicles of the Modern Era: Exploring Contemporary Cultural Expressions\u2019 is also open until 23 September 2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
