The session will be moderated by researcher Gabriela Borges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The guests pose the question, &#8220;How can we discuss politics with generations that have a compact, interactive, and remixed relationship with news?&#8221; They emphasise that journalists are taught in communication faculties that their mission is also to &#8220;translate&#8221; more complex content for the general public. Presenting the potential benefits and beauty that arise from the &#8220;cactus of politics&#8221; is a skill that seems particularly challenging for those aiming to produce content for a younger audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since 2015, Felipe Castanhari has addressed this topic, along with other events of the year, in his \u201cAnimated Retrospective\u201d \u2013 produced annually for the Nostalgia YouTube channel. Unlike the original journalistic versions on TV, from which it takes its name, the YouTuber plays with genres and formats, turning news into a music video\/treasure hunt game where players compete to locate the most references.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The results are presented in reaction videos that spread across digital platforms, leading researchers to ask: what elements in this production can spark young people&#8217;s interest in political content? How can we determine if this interest actually occurs? Researchers Jhonatan Mata and Sara de Moraes present the initial findings of this research in this Seminar, part of the Communication Philosophy module for the second year of the Communication Sciences undergraduate course. The initiative takes place in auditorium 1.3 of the Penha Campus Pedagogical Complex, at 11:00 and is open to the general public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jhonatan Mata is a journalist with a PhD in Communication (Ecop\u00f3s UFRJ\/Blanquerna) and a professor in the Postgraduate Programme in Communication at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (PPGCOM-UFJF, Brazil). He is the coordinator of the Sinestelas Research Group, the Professional Training Programme Music for Eyes and Ears, and the Polijovem Extension Project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sara de Moraes is a journalist and PhD candidate in Communication (PPGCOM \u2013 UFJF). She is a CAPES scholarship holder, a member of the Sinestelas research group, and the sub-coordinator of the Polijovem Extension Project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong><em>Cycle of Seminars on Communication Sciences<\/em><\/strong> is an initiative that has been developing over the past few years, in collaboration with professionals and the community.
