ARTIST RESIDENCY 

CIAC SUPPORTS RAQUEL BELLI’S ARTISTIC PROJECT

The Open Room project will be developed in the city of Faro by the artist Raquel Belli, who will carry out an artistic residency, divided into two phases.

In the first phase, the artist will carry out fieldwork, interviewing residents of Bairro Ribeirinho who have already been contacted by Na Mouche. During these interviews, the artist will learn about the history of this area of the city, learning about residents’ life stories and taking photographs. This phase will take place at the beginning of September, after which the entire creative process of selecting, editing and post-producing the photographs and the creative work of mixing them with the patterns of the tapestries will be carried out.

In the second phase of the project, the artist will return to Faro for an artistic residency at GAMA RAMA. The result of her work will be presented in an exhibition to be opened in October. At the same time, there will be an art installation on the streets of the neighbourhood and a workshop for the public on the technique used by the artist.
