CADAVRE EXQUIS
BRUNO MENDES DA SILVA PRESENTS THE FILM “CADAVRE EXQUIS” AT FILE FESTIVAL 2022
The interactive film Cadavre Exquis, by CIAC’s vice-coordinator Bruno Mendes da Silva, is part of the programme of the 2022 edition of FILE – International Festival of Electronic Language. The event takes place between 13 July and 28 August 2022, at the Sesi Art Gallery, in São Paulo (Brazil), after a two-year break due to the pandemic.
Cadavre Exquis, which had already been selected for FILE’s 2020 showcase, is an interactive film that allows, through body language, to interact with the characters of the narrative. Inspired by the surrealist game of the same name, it is a project developed in collaboration with the University of San José (Macau), the production company Art8Macau, Creative Macau and the Cultural Institute of Macau, which seeks the subversion of the filmic discourse through the fractionation of the space-time unit. Produced in Macau, Cadavre Exquis was funded by Orient Foundation, Macao Cultural Institute, Macao Foundation and FCT. The trailer is available here.
FILE is one of the most recognized media art festivals worldwide. Bringing together aesthetic expression works related to electronic sound, interactive art and digital language, the festival seeks to reflect on the main trends and movements of contemporary culture; and to promote access to the technological language of new media and the digital medium.
