CIAC TALKS
NEW EPISODE OF “CIAC TALKS” AVAILABLE ONLINE
The third episode of the 2022 season of the CIAC Talks interview programme is already available on CIAC’s Youtube channel. It is a conversation conducted by CIAC coordinator Mirian Tavares with visual artist Ângelo Gonçalves.
Ângelo Gonçalves has a degree in Visual Arts from the Algarve University and a post-graduate degree in Visual and Performing Arts from the same institution. He was one of the founders of Associação 289, a structure that promotes the Visual Arts and other artistic manifestations in the Algarve region and that brings together different artists of diverse techniques and backgrounds. He has participated in several exhibitions and political-artistic action projects.
His works explore, above all, issues of territory (namely occupation/unoccupation, the interior/coast, the idea of shelter); and reflect what is most important for him in the Algarve region. Painting, sculpture, installation, photography, performance, everything goes to express, point out and register inequalities.
CIAC Talks is the continuation of the Artist Talk Initiative project, an audiovisual product of interviews with researchers, teachers and artists (national and international), developed by the Centre since 2013.
