COMMUNICATION SCIENCES SEMINARS
ESEC, CDE AND CIAC PROMOTE SEMINARS ABOUT DIGITAL TRANSITION
On 26 October 2022, from 10h30 to 11h30, Escola Superior de Educação e Comunicação (ESEC-UAlg), European Documentation Center (UAlg) and CIAC promote the seminar Transição digital e inteligência coletiva territorial [Digital transition and Collective territorial knowledge] with António Covas. The event is organized within the scope of the discipline of Media Literacy and Strategic and Marketing Communication of the Communication Sciences Degree. The session will be moderated by Prof. Ana Filipa Martins and takes place at Anfiteatro 0.5 in the Complexo Pedagógico of Campus Penha.
Digital transition and Collective territorial knowledge is António Covas’ most recent work. It aims to popularize (together with students) current European topics and digital challenges them face.
António Covas holds a degree in Economy, a post-graduate in European Economy (Universidade Católica), a doctorate in European Topics (Université Libre de Bruxelles), combined with International Economic Relations and European Topics (University of Évora). He was the vice dean of the University of Évora and advisor to the Agriculture Minister between 1995 and 1999. António Covas is now a Tenured Professor at the University of Algarve (UAlg) and has published dozens of works on European topics.
The Communication Sciences Seminars is an initiative that CIAC has been developing in the last few years, connecting professionals and the community. The sessions are promoted by members of CIAC’s Research Group on Communication Sciences, professors of the Communication Sciences Degree, and Master’s Degree in Communication and Digital Media of ESEC-UAlg.
Throughout the school year 2022-23, the seminars will address topics related to Communication Sciences, ranging from journalism to strategic communication, from media analysis and production to media literacy. In
