ESEC AND CIAC PROMOTE SEMINARS ABOUT ETHICS IN BRAZILIAN JOURNALISM

On November 8th 2022, at 10h30, CIAC and Higher School of Education and Communication (ESEC- UAlg) promote the seminar Ethics in Brazilian Journalism with journalist Gabriela Zotti. The event is organized within the scope of the discipline of Ethics and Communication Deontology as part of the Communication Sciences Degree. The session will be moderated by Prof. Paulo Alves and takes place in ESEC’s room 22.

Guest speaker Gabriela Zottis has been a journalist for over 17 years, did an internship at the Vatican Radio (Rome) and worked as a reporter for the main Brazilian TV channels. She has lived in Rio de Janeiro for ten years, working on historical news coverage such as presidential elections, World Cup, the Olympics, and police operations in the favelas. She holds a degree in Journalism by the University of Lisbon, an MBA in Marketing, and a Master’s in Communication Sciences. Gabriela currently lives in Portugal, where she works as an international correspondent for CNN Brazil.

The Communication Sciences Seminars are a CIAC initiative that connects professionals and the community. The sessions are promoted by CIAC’s Research Group on Communication Sciences, professors of the Communication Sciences Degree and the Master’s Degree in Communication and Digital Media of ESEC-UAlg.

Throughout the school year 2022-23, the seminars will address topics related to the scope of the research group, ranging from journalism to strategic communication, from media analysis and production to media literacy. In November, the Group has also planned seminars with Ricardo Brito Reis (11 November), Rui Gustavo (15 November), Blessing Lumueno (18 de November), and Nelson Floro (25 de November).
