CIAC RESEARCH GROUP ON FILM STUDIES ORGANIZES CONFERENCE ON ALEXANDRE DUMAS: FROM LITERATURE TO CINEMA

CIAC is organizing the Conference Alexandre Dumas: from Literature to Cinema, which takes place on October 26, at the António Ramos Rosa Municipal Library, in Faro, at 15h00.

The event is organized by CIAC’s Research Group on Film Studies and the Municipal Library of Faro, with the support of Alliance Française Algarve. The goal is to disseminate the literary work of the French writer Alexandre Dumas and reflect on the influence he had on youth literature and on cinema.

Four CIAC researchers and collaborators take part in the conference. Ana Alexandra Carvalho presents the communication “Alexandre Dumas and the Adventure of the Historical Novel”, followed by Sara Vitorino Fernandez who presents the communication “A Classic Told to the Future: the Adaptation of the Three Musketeers to the Youth Audience” and Jorge Carrega presents “Alexandre Dumas and the adventure cinema”. The conference will be moderated by João Carlos Firmino Carvalho.

Admission to the event is free of charge.
