CONFERENCE

In partnership with Procur.arte, DINÂMIA’CET/ISCTE and the Institute of Art History/UNL, CIAC organises the conference “FLÂNEUR – NEW URBAN NARRATIVES”.

Mirian Tavares and Ana Isabel Soares (CIAC/UAlg) are members of the scientific committee of this project, alongside Pedro Costa and José Luís Saldanha (DINÂMIA’CET-IUL/ISCTE-IUL), Margarida Brito Alves, Giulia Lamoni and Nuno Crespo (Institute of Art History/FCSH-UNL).

The conference marks the public launch of the “Flanêur” project – an art project in the public space, based on contemporary photography, urban territory and networking – which, from Lisbon, will spread internationally, encouraging a joint reflection between academics, artists and curators
The conference will take place in Lisbon at the São Luiz Theatre on May 12 and 13 and will develop from three thematic panels: ‘Urban drift in Modern and Contemporary Art’; ‘City, Photography and Film – Audiovisual representation of the flâneur’; and ‘The territories of flânerie: the current experience of urban public spaces’.
