CIAC researchers promote conference on José Mejuto Bernárdez’s letters

The Center for Galician Studies, in partnership with the Xunta de Galicia, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Algarve and the CIAC, brings together in Faro three lecturers around the Letters from the prison of José Mejuto Bernárdez, shot in July of 1937, as a message of love and hope in justice.

The conference, which intends to divulge the letters and the life of José Mejuto Bernárdez, arrested and sentenced to death by military revolt, presents three communications from researchers dedicated to the study of José Mejuto Bernárdez’s letters:

Olivia Rodríguez González (Professor of the University of Coruña) will present the communication Das cartas de José Mejuto aos proxectos arredor dunha historia sen rematar”;

Ana Paula Mejuto Soba (granddaughter of the author and professor of the National University of General San Martín) will speak about “Cartas desde la cárcel que atravesaron el Océano. Vivencia en Buenas Aires de un legado de amor y de guerra”;

Fernanda Papa Mejuto (granddaughter of the author and graduate in Psychology) presents the communication “Do horror ao amor: a recepción da herdanza familiar de José Mejuto Bernández”.

The event will take place on June 29, at 6:30 pm, at the FNAC of the Algarve Forum and it has free admission.
