CIAC e Cineclube de Faro promote Conference on Education and Cinema
The Center for Research in Arts and Communication and the Cineclube de Faro are meeting once again to hold a conference on cinema and education. On July 10, we will have with us the professor and researcher Ana Paula Nunes of the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB) to share and discuss the possibilities of the meeting between cinema and education, namely on methodologies and experiences of knowledge production through the cinema and audiovisual in education.
This conference, Cinema and Education: from production to reception, part of an inverse perspective to the usual, starting from the point of view of the cinema and the audiovisual, to reflect on how education – like reading the world (Paulo Freire) and responsibility for the world (Hanna Arendt) – contributes to the processes of artistic creation, whether in decentralized production, in collaborative processes, in creative projects that incorporate the experience of the public, in image pedagogies; or in a poetic reception.
Ana Paula Nunes is Adjunct Professor of Cinema and Audiovisual, in the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB). She holds a PhD in Contemporary Communication and Culture from the Federal University of Bahia – UFBA (2016), and she has completed a PhD at the Center for Research in Arts and Communication (CIAC) at the University of the Algarve (2014). She works and researches on cinema and education since 1998, when she became a member of the NGO CINEDUC. Currently, she also works as Tutor of the Tutorial Education Program – PET Cinema, the only PET group focused on film work, within a universe of more than 800 groups distributed by higher education institutions in Brazil.
The event will take place next July 10, at the University of Algarve, in auditorium 1.4 of the Pedagogical Complex of Campus da Penha at 3:30 p.m.
The admission is free.
