INVITRO PROGRAM PROMOTES A NEW CYCLE OF SEMINARS

On June 1, 2022, at 2 pm, the curatorial program INVITRO promotes the seminar “Surrounding Cinema”, in online format. Coordinated by Adérito Fernandes-Marcos (member of CIAC’s Executive Board) and curated by Selma Pereira (Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco), the session includes interventions from Bruno Mendes da Silva (CIAC’s Vice-Coordinator), Carlos Sena Caires (University of São José, Macau) and Celso Prudente (Federal University of Mato Grosso, Brazil).

In this seminar, we intend to reflect on the use of new aesthetic, structural and technological possibilities (as a strategy of formal recreation) for the reinterpretation of the filmic experience by the spectator. Furthermore, it seeks to analyze scenarios of activism and political and social, cultural and pedagogical intervention in their multiple and polysemic dimensions.

Of The Walking on Ice” (Bruno Mendes da Silva), “The Lovers of the Garden of Time – Aesthetic Singularities of Interactive Filmic Narrative” (Carlos Sena Caires) and “Inclusive contemporaneity versus exclusionary anachronism: question and problem of black cinema”(Celso Prudente) are the motto for the debate. “Surrounding Cinema”, moderated by Bruno Mendes da Silva, addresses activist, pedagogical, experimental and territorial perspectives in a cinema that is characterized by being singular.

The curatorial program INVITRO is developed in the framework of the Open University’s Center for Research, Development and Transdisciplinary Experimentation of Technological Artefacts/Artech-International/CIAC. Its mission is the development and encouragement of technological artifacts based on inter-multi and transdisciplinary intersection, collaboration between sectors, innovation and creative thinking.

The seminar cycle is free of charge and provides a certificate of participation.
Places are limited and registration is mandatory (here).
