JOANA R. SÁ IS THE NEXT GUEST OF THE VISUAL ARTS CYCLE
On 6th April 2022, at 5:00pm, CIAC and the University of Algarve promote a lecture with visual artist Joana R. Sá. Integrated in the Visual Arts Cycle, the session takes place at the Amphitheatre 0.4 of the Penha Campus and admission is free.
Developing her work around drawing, Joana R. Sá explores themes such as deviation, gesture and memory, concepts that have given rise to metaphors between man and machine; drawing and code; the organic and the mechanical.
Joana R. Sá completed a Degree in Visual Arts and a Post-Graduation in Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Algarve. She currently lives and works in Oporto, where she studied for a Master’s Degree in Plastic Arts – Specialization in Drawing, at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto, with the project “Lapso: o desvio na imagem”. Belongs to Associação 289, a collective of artists that promotes contemporary art events in the Algarve region.
Since 2013, he has participated in several exhibitions, including Octagonal (2017), at Galeria Trem, in Faro; 289 – Um projeto de Pedro Cabrita Reis (2018), at Associação 289, in Faro; Noroeste-Sudeste: Novas Perspetivas em Desenho (2019), at Fundação Júlio Resende: No Lugar do Desenho, in Porto.
Promoted by CIAC and FCT, the Visual Arts Cycle is organized by the Visual Arts Degree, Faculty of Human and Social Sciences, University of Algarve.
