PHD IN COMMUNICATION, CULTURE AND ARTS

Wiliam Pianco dos Santos defended, on March 22, evidence for obtaining the PhD in Communication, Culture and Arts, at the University of Algarve, with the thesis entitled “A Alegoria Histórica nos Filmes de Viagem de Manoel de Oliveira”. The PhD research, developed at the Center for Research in Arts and Communication, was supervised by Professor Ana Isabel Soares (CIAC-UAlg) and Samuel Paiva (UFSCar).

The Jury approved the work defended with the classification of Very Good with distinction and praise.

The results achieved with this PhD research have been presented and disseminated in several academic publications and congresses in the area, contributing decisively to the study of the  cinematographic universe of Manoel de Oliveira.
