ESTC ORGANIZES ARTISTIC-ACADEMIC MEETING ABOUT THE VOICE IN THE ARTS

The Theater and Film School of the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon (ESTC) is organizing an artistic-academic meeting Vozes da Voz nas Artes Vivas [Voices of the Voice in the Living Arts], which will take place on the 3rd and 4th of November 2023.

The meeting proposes an artistic and academic exchange of studies about the voices in the performing arts, in its poetic, ethical and political scope. To this end, the event brings together artists, researchers, and teachers to share their experiences, creative processes and research on the voice in the context of contemporary performance practices in theater.

Voices of the Voice in the Living Arts aims to promote reflection about ways and materials of experimentation and research on the voice, which transform theatre creation, highlighting its procedural power, which is in permanent construction and which opens up passages to the vertiginous sensitive movement of being and intervening in the very dynamics of the world and of life.

The Theater and Film School of the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon (ESTC) is one of CIAC’s national hubs and aims to promote applied research and research networks in arts and communication, implement laboratories for artistic creation in the fields of theatre, cinema, and other arts – with a focus on the Mediterranean region.
