CIAC will be in the VIII Annual Meeting of AIM

As usual, CIAC will be part of the 8th Annual Meeting of the Association of Motion Picture Researchers (AIM). In this edition, in the University of Aveiro, from May 16 to 19, we will have the interventions of Ana Isabel Soares and Mirian Tavares, who are members of the social bodies and the advisory council of this association.

On May 19, Saturday, Ana Isabel Soares will present the communication “Hybridism and prosody in the cinema”. The researcher will also moderate the panel “Adaptations” on Saturday afternoon. Mirian Tavares will present the communication “Rome: the memory city of Federico Fellini” on Saturday afternoon and will be moderating a panel on “Body and Cinema” on Saturday morning. The CIAC collaborator, Jusciele Oliveira, will present the communication “Epa, my future is increasingly uncertain: prospects for the future through the soundtrack and children’s discourse of the film The Blue Eyes of Yonta (1992) Flora Gomes.”

This year’s edition, co-organized by AIM – Association of Image Researchers in Motion and by the Department of Languages ​​and Cultures of the University of Aveiro, will have invited the keynote speakers Manthia Diawara, writer, filmmaker, cultural theorist, academic, art historian and professor in University of New York (United States), where she is Director of the Institute of African American Affairs; Dorota Ostrowska, professor and researcher of film studies and new media at Birkbeck, University of London (UK) and Ian Craven, professor of film and television studies at the University of Glasgow (UK).
