Samuel Rama brings “Passagens” to the Trem Gallery
The exhibition “Passagens” by Samuel Rama opens at the Trem Gallery on July 07. The opening, which will be attended by the artist, will take place at 6:30 p.m.
The exhibition runs until September 22 and can be viewed during the gallery’s summer opening hours, from Tuesday to Saturday, between 12:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
About the artist:
Samuel Rama holds a degree in Fine Arts from the School of Arts and Design of Caldas da Rainha (IPL), where he has been teaching since 2003. He has a PhD in Visual and Intermedia Arts from the Polytechnic University of Valencia. He has been involved in several seminars and publications as part of the University of Lisbon Arts Faculty Landscape Philosophy and Architecture research project. Artist and professor, his work focuses on researching the relationship between the media of drawing, sculpture and photography, with the notions of landscape. Highlights among his solo exhibitions: Habitar a Penumbra (2005), Módulo – Centro Diffusor de Arte, Oporto; MAGMA (2008), Galeria 111 – Lisbon and Oporto; SCANNING (2010) Photographic Archive of Lisbon; MEGAPARSECS (2012) Teatro da Politécnica, Lisbon. Highlights among his collective exhibitions: 49ème Salon Européen des Jeunes Créateurs (2004) Montrouge, Monastery of Sant Cugat del Vallès, Barcelona; Amadeu Souza-Cardoso Museum, Amarante; 7 Artists in the 10th month (2005), Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Lisbon; London Pilot 2, London (2005); From the Other Side of the Atlantic, Hélio Oiticica Art Centre, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (2010); Drawing Now – Le Salon du Dessin Contemporain, Carreau du Temple, Paris (2017). He was a finalist in the awards: IV International Expanded Painting Prize (2007), Castellón Fine Arts Museum, Spain and at the 10th UNIÓN FENOSA International Exhibition (2008), Unión Fenosa Contemporary Art Museum, La Coruña, Spain. He is represented in the collections of MAAT – Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology, Bartolomeu Cid dos Santos, Novo Banco, Fundação Bienal Cerveira, MAR (RIO Art Museum, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), Américo Marques dos Santos, Manuel de Brito, PLMJ, etc… Artist represented by Galeria 111.
