EXHIBITION

Galeria TREM hosts the exhibition “As coisas que não existem são mais bonitas” (The things that don’t exist are prettier)

The exhibition “As coisas que não existem são mais bonitas” (The things that do not exist are prettier) will be inaugurated on the next 20th of June, by 6.30 pm, in Galeria TREM, Faro. The sentence is taken from the Brazilian poet Manoel de Barros and it is the motto for six artists that “borrow us their eyes and open new spaces and breaches in the common places”. The artists Alexandre Sequeira Lima, Catarina Guerreiro, Filipe Ferreira, Francisco Rodrigues, Guilherme Gonçalves and Mafalda Neves reveal, with diverse techniques, what they see beyond that which the eyes of others, who are not artists, cannot achieve. Open until the 3rd of August, this exhibit displays comics’ stories and other illustration works, by way of an art made of “fragments of clippings, of characters whose story is yet to be told or is being told at the moment in which they come to exist”. Visit the exhibition and observe the things that do not exist because those are the prettiest.
