EXHIBITION
MAPLAND in Trem Gallery
The exhibit Mapland will be inaugurated in the nex 20th of February, by 6h30pm, in the Trem Gallery, in Faro. The event intends to make known the work of the artist Mariana Madeira showing the fruits of her research project in the scope of the Master Degree in Communication, Culture and Arts and the results from her stay in Nano Centre (EBA/UFRJ), in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In this presentation of her work to the public, Mariana Madeira, makes known the third phase of the work she was begun and partially exhibit in Brazil, and which will constitute, in its totality, the materialization of a “ficticious city”.
The artist shows a set of four machines that run activities evoking the natural elements (water, earth, air, and fire) and that “define a system that works according to a techno-science”, invented by herself, and with “organisms potentially connected with the world in a new way”.
In MAPLAND, Mariana Madeira departs from the memories collected in the knowledge and in the experiences from the cities to offer them to the public.
The exhibit will be open until the day 19th of april, from Tuesday to Sunday, between 10h00 am to 06h00pm.
